Chocolate Fondant Dessert

While our restaurant Jansz. Amsterdam is closed, we would like to provide you with the recipe for the ultimate chocolate lovers dessert. Try make this iconic Jansz. Chocolate Fondant at home and impress the entire family with the all-time favorite dessert of our Jansz. chefs. Let’s get baking!

Ingredients (5 servings)

  • Eggs                                    2
  • Sugar                                  120gr
  • Flour                                   85gr
  • Milk Chocolate                  100gr
  • Butter                                100gr
  • Cream                                15ml
  • Dark Chocolate                 50gr

What you need

  • Silicone half-ball mall
  • Piping bag
  • Aluminium cake moulds
  • Mixer
  • Baking spray

Method of preparation:

For the filling, melt the dark chocolate au bain-marie with the cream and put the mixture in the half-ball mall. Place it in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

In the meantime, mix the eggs and sugar with a mixer until expanded to three times its original size. Melt the milk chocolate with the butter au bain-marie in a separate bowl and use the mixer to mix it with the eggs and sugar. Stir in the flour and put it in a piping bag.

Spray the cake moulds with the baking spray and add the mixture. Put the half-ball chocolates in the mixture and add a thin layer on top. Place the cakes in the oven for 8 minutes.

Let the cakes cool for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Garnish with (homemade) ice cream, cookie crumble and cherries.
