During the annual meeting of the Dutch hotel Concierge association, Ron Stoevelaar was chosen as the new president by the members of Les Clefs d’Or the Netherlands. Stoevelaar could obtain this position due to the transparent vision he has for the association. He aims to rejuvenate within the organisation, create knowledge within hotels about the profession of the Concierges and increase brand awareness of the Les Clefs d’Or.
Ron Stoevelaar has been a member of the national Les Clefs d’Or since 1994 and has fulfilled multiple positions within the organisation such as secretary and vice-president. He remains in his function as Concierge at the newly renovated Pulitzer Amsterdam, where he has been working for over six years. Stoevelaar replaces the former president Brian Mackenzie who is adjusting his focus to the board of the European Les Clefs d’Or organisation.
Les Clefs d’Or is a worldwide community of Concierges at renowned four and five-star hotels. The Concierge service at the hotels benefits through the collaboration with colleagues from all over the world. The organisation’s motto is ‘Service Through Friendship’; the friendship between members to assist international travellers and tourists. The community started in 1952 when nine countries collaborated and started the Les Clefs d’Or. The association is now spread over 45 countries with over 4,000 members. Members can be recognised by their golden crossed keys pinned on both sides of their suit. It is worth mentioning that four of the six Concierges at Pulitzer Amsterdam are members of this organisation, two have admitted their application.
