Remembrance Day & Liberation Day
Every year, on the 4th of May at 20:00, the Dutch remember the victims of World War ||, other wars and peace missions. A ceremony including a two-minute silence is held on several locations throughout the country with the largest one on the Dam Square. The next day, festivities are organized to celebrate our number one privileged right: freedom! A selection of well-known liberty festivals on this day are: Het Vrije Westen, Het Amsterdams Verbond, Vrijland and KinderBevrijdingsFestival.

Rollende Keukens 2019
Foodlovers be aware! From May 29 until June 2, the Westergas area will turn into your favorite food festival. Enjoy dishes, wines, beers and other spices and delights. With a good atmosphere, foodtrucks, sunshine and live music, Rollende Keukens has all the ingredients for a great time.

Hemeltjelief Festival 2019
On the 30th of May, the NSDM-wharf will turn into a colorful universe! Hemeltjelief its spaceship will take you to the most astonishing places the universe has to offer. This family festival is filled with amusement for all ages with exciting bands, grooving DJ’s, culture, arts and lots of other fun activities. Once the little ones are off to bed, the after-party kicks in at Noorderlicht Café. Never a dull moment at Hemeltjelief!
