This is a park created around a former gas factory. Nowadays it’s the place to go for many locals. Westerpark has a charming green area with plenty of playgrounds. A nature adventure trail, Het Woeste Westen, lies at the end of the park where the little ones can release their energy with activities such as, building a raft of catching tadpoles. If you want to picnic until the sun goes down: the Westerpark is the only one in Amsterdam where you are allowed to barbecue. Also, nearby are lots of trendy cafes, bars and nice restaurants to visit!

Besides the fact that Amstelpark is a cozy one, it’s also a place full of fun activities. Play some minigolf or taste a delicious scoop of homemade ice cream. See all of the park in the Amsteltrain or look at the view from the Ferris wheel! Next to the playground, the city farm is located. Here, you can find animals like goats, chickens, donkeys and bunnies. For the full Dutch experience, you can visit the mill called ‘Riekermolen’!

Enjoy your afternoon picnic like a local in the Sarphatiepark, located in the popular neighborhood ‘De Pijp’. This park is a real city park: it radiates luxury and is surrounded by stately homes. The coziness of this park makes it the perfect place to savor a picnic. In for a game? Play Frisbee or compete in a table tennis contest.

This forest has everything and more. An idyllic scenery with your picnic and more than enough activities to choose from; climb and zip through the Fun Forest, visit the goat farm, sup/canoe through the lakes or enjoy a performance at the forest theatre. When temperatures are rising, the lakes, pools and waterways are ideal for a swim or to find refreshment. The visitor’s center is the place to ask your questions, reserve your activity such as, a boat excursion or to give directions.
