The Americano holds the distinction of being the very first drink James Bond ordered. In the first book of the series, Casino Royale from 1953, Bond orders Americanos on his journey. Later, in A View to a Kill (1985) Bond said he would always order an Americano in a bar.

Build all ingredients in a long drink glass with ice cubes and top off with Fever-Tree Soda. Stir a little and garnish with the orange zest.
When Bond momentarily forgets the tradition of drinking ‘locally’ in Live and Let Die (1954), CIA-agent Felix Leiter tells Bond to enjoy the official drink of The Big Easy: ‘Where is your sense of adventure? This is New Orleans. Relax!’
The Sazerac is a local New Orleans variation of a whiskey or cognac cocktail. The Sazerac of Pulitzer’s Bar is a delicious drink that can be defined as slightly sweet with spicy and nutty notes.
- VSOP Cognac 35ML
- Bulleit Rye Whiskey 35ML
- Peychaud’s Bitters 3 dashes
- Sugar Syrup 7,5ML
- Saline Solution 1 dash
- Absinth Spray
- Lemon Zest
Fill a tumbler glass with ice and a cocktail shaker for about ¾ with ice. Pour the Cognac, Rye Whiskey, Peychaud’s bitters and sugar syrup one by one into the shaker and shake for 20 seconds. Remove the ice from the glass and spray the absinth into the glass. Then use a strainer to pour the cocktail into the glass and garnish with a slice of lemon zest.
A variation of the Tom Collins, Bond is served one of these by his host, Emilio Largo. Refreshing, it is the ideal afternoon cocktail in the Bahamas.
